True Garden Confessions: Sedum Resurrection

by Amy on April 16, 2010

It’s time for another edition of True Garden Confessions!

You’d think this lovely sedum would be re-emerging in the perennial border, wouldn’t you? Well, it’s not.

Sedum resurrection.

Last year I had this Sedum spectabile ‘Neon’ in a pot on our deck. I don’t usually plant perennials in containers but I thought I would try something new because I wanted to add some interest to the usual collection of annuals I pot up for our eating and sitting space.

The end of last year’s gardening season is a pregnancy-induced haze, but it seems that we emptied the pot containing this lovely sedum into the vegetable garden to decompose. And there it is, popping up once again in not one, but two distinct clumps. When the clumps get a little bigger, I’ll move them back into the perennial border. Or maybe into a pot on the deck (wink).
