When buying hot banana peppers I smell them. When ready it has a unique aroma which it passes on to the food.

It's too bad the weather wasn't hotter here this year, or I might have had a better yield. It was really cool for tomatoes and peppers in Ontario this summer!

We have three very spicy peppers, which we've never grown before, ripening in our plot. Something tells me they're going to be fiery. I'm saving them for my son, who has been fed bland camp food as a counsellor for the past two months. Those look like lovely peppers. Same thing happened to me this year, but they all taste sweet, so maybe I didn’t even plant any hot ones.
