Scenes from Aprils past.

by Amy on April 6, 2009

Today as I drove home from an appointment I was shocked to notice a pretty splash of colour on a lawn in an otherwise extremely dreary day.  Yesterday was lovely and mild, sunny and fresh, and today the temperature hovers around the freezing mark, with ice pellets falling.  They’re trying desperately to turn into snow.

Some years I’ve been so incredibly anxious to get outside and plant flowers, get the yard cleaned up and start sowing early greens.  This year spring seems to have crept up on me, instead.

I thought I’d have a look at some photos from Aprils past to get me in the gardening mood.

April 14, 2006: Graham removes our raised beds and tills a new, longer, wider bed.

April 29, 2007: My little row greenhouse protects cabbage seedlings and potted perennials.

April 20, 2008: Pretty violas potted up outside the kitchen door.
