Missing the green.

by Amy on January 26, 2009

Last week we got another foot or so of snow…this winter has been very snowy!  Of course I took some photos of the back yard under all of that snow.

I looked through some photos of the garden and yard this morning and the contrast between these photos of winter and summer in the garden and yard is startling.

This photograph was taken on August 13, 2008.

And this one was taken on January 19, 2009.

The white stuff is pretty, but I miss the green!

Quite a contrast there. Hope you do not need anything from the shed :)

We recently had quite a bit of snow here and I started to go a bit stir-crazy. Being from Montana you’d think I could handle it but I’ve been in the PNW long enough to appreciate more friendly climes. Loved all your hostas in the previous post. It was a treat trolling through your blog. Thanks!

It stops the heart, it does to see the marked difference between the two seasons. I always say that there are two cities in Ottawa: the winter and the summer one.

I agree. The white is pretty, but the green is definitely more interesting.

It realy is a big difference. You have a nice backyard in both summer and wintertime.
