Graham and I put up our Christmas tree yesterday. This year we chose a Blue Spruce. We both like the colour of this tree very much. I noticed there were a few new varieties available in our local Rotary lot this year that I haven’t seen before. In my family we’ve almost always had live Christmas trees for the holidays, but as an adult I recognize that there are pros and cons to bringing a live, cut tree into the house for our Christmas celebration. I still think it’s better for the environment to buy a freshly cut local tree than to buy an artificial tree which will inevitably end up in landfill. At least real trees are compostable.
You can see the garden out back through the window. It’s snowing very prettily today.

It looks really nice, I am amazed by all that snow.
The blue spruce is such a gorgeous tree! It must smell heavenly.
I got a Fraser Fir that smells just like Christmas. Your tree looks very full and is lovely with the snow in the background.
You’re tree looks beautiful and with the winter scenery in the background, it makes such a stunning shot.
Where did you get your ornaments from? They are awesome.
Since my kids love themed trees, I am on the lookout for a great store that had fun decorations and LED lights. I went to a place today called The Willow Tree that I got from a mommy review: http://www.sharesavvy.ca/cities/toronto/reviews/808
They had amazing decorations and many shades of LED lights. They weren’t too pricey, either, so I bought a few things. But I always like to get mommy tried-and-tested recommendations.
Thank you for posting this,
