This week in my garden there are lots of plants on the verge of blooming, but so far there is no dazzling display of colour happening out there. The yellow irises are budding nicely, mom’s lupines are loaded with buds, and the perennial geraniums near our deck are looking lovely with their bright pink flowers raised up above the level of their fragrant foliage.
I found these pretty geraniums last weekend at Price’s Market, just east of Bowmanville, and had to have them for our deck. I’ve never seen geraniums like these before.
I got this guy at a yard sale last weekend for fifty cents. He’s welcoming guests at our front door.
This is growing in my mom’s garden at the back of our yard, and if I remember correctly, it’s some sort of pink-hued forget-me-not. I couldn’t help but notice it’s growing in the shape of a heart.

What a lovely Green Thumb collection. Yes, the geraniums are interesting. I also love the buttery yellow petunias in the container with them. Your “doorman” looks very friendly. Yes that does look like a heart. How sweet.

What a great find that turtle planter is! I’m getting the itch to go thrifting again, but I’ll have to wait until I’m no longer needing crutches!
