This is the rough plan I’ve made for the back yard vegetable garden (main bed). The area on the left side of the page, from the zucchini down to the radishes, will be positioned under my row greenhouse. Most of my direct-seeded tender plants are going under there because last year the row greenhouse really helped to keep the rabbit damage to a minimum. I’m excited to have flowers interspersed with the vegetables this year. Pretty!
This Friday I will be attending Canada Blooms, followed by Seedy Saturday on, of course, Saturday. After this weekend I hope to have mostly nailed down the varieties I intend to grow…at least when it comes to those heat loving plants like tomatoes, eggplant and peppers, because those are the plants I’ll be starting from seed very soon, under my grow lights.

wow, your yard is going to be amazing with all of those fresh vegetables and flowers.
ahhh i learn more from a master! so is the grow light a special bulb or just a normal fluorescent? I’ve never done one and about to do that soon here in missouri.
Do you use a heat mat under your trays?
Looks great, Amy! Can’t wait to follow its progress as the season gets underway!
I’ll look forward to your progress! This is wonderful!
Great plan! You’re so good to plot it all out so carefully – I’m sure it will pay off big for you. I planted most of my beds today – just a little left to do before the day ran out on me. I did mark everything nicely, though, which is good discipline for me. Good luck with your rabbit-thwarting efforts!
What a great plan. Yes, you’re definitely the gardener I want as my next door neighbour.
