You may have noticed lately that this blog has been less focused on plants and more focused on FOOD lately. Well, that’s what happens this time of year.
Katie asked me what I am planning to do with the zucchini. Here’s a photo of one recipe I tried recently. It was “meh”. Needed more salt or cheese or something. Looks pretty, though, doesn’t it?

I’ve also made zucchini parmesan bread (one loaf is in the freezer) and curried zucchini soup.
Next I’ll be experimenting with coleslaw recipes since I grew six Early Coppenhagen Market cabbages and have no idea how else to eat them.
I hope the tomatoes come slowly, maybe a few at a time, but I think what will happen is that they will all ripen at once, all 27 plants (not including the volunteers or the plants at the community garden), and I’ll have to spend a few days in the kitchen making salsa and sauce. Excellent.
P.S. The pickles turned out great.

cabbage rolls for the cabbage!
It looks delicious. Let me know when you find a good zucchini recipe – I’m never really sure what to do with them (and usually end up putting them with pasta).
