A few weeks ago my mom came to live with us. Gardening has always been an important part of her life, so we made sure she had a portion of the garden all for herself. Her garden is at the back part of our yard, and it’s about twenty feet long and three feet wide. She had a lot of perennials that she rescued last season from the Loblaws when they were closing. She planted them at our house back then, and has been working away at moving them into her flower bed here for the last couple of weeks.

Take the tour:
A heart made out of willow boughs.
Mom told me yesterday this was her favourite part of the garden.
A bee or wasp enjoying the foxglove.
Lupines are her favourite flower. The bunnies like them, too.
Some containers on an old table.
The reason why all of this is worth it.

Amy, it is after the fact, February ’08 to be exact. I am just now seeing the photos you posted that were taken in “our” garden last Summer, my part of it to be specific. I am so touched that you took these photos. I had no idea. I’ve saved them all and I thank you for having done this. They’re beautiful and so are the words you posted under each. In my dreams am I half the gardener you are.
