Herb Fair 2007

by Amy on June 3, 2007

Today was the much anticipated Harbourfront Herb Fair, an event I’ve been going to for a few years, now. It’s an event that members of You Grow Girl usually meet up at, and we swap plants and buy way too many plants and generally just enjoy all the plantiness.

I took a photo this evening of the plants I came home with, but it’s all blurry, so in the morning I’ll take a better shot. For now, and to get rid of that horrible ad in the sidebar likely prompted by the subject line of the previous post, I’ll leave you with a list, “Herb Fair Haul, 2007″. (Gayla’s photo of me with my haul is here.)

From Grow Tasty (certified organic): Turkish Orange Eggplant.

From Urban Harvest: Purple Beauty pepper, Rainbow chard, Big Bluestem grass.

Freebies from Julianna: Violetta basil, Genovese basil, Green ruffles basil.

Freebies from Gayla: lemon balm, valerian, feverfew, borage, variegated tomato, black pineapple tomato (horrific yet delicious), miniature white cucumber.

That should be more than enough to keep me occupied this summer! I promise to post photos of these new plants a.s.a.p. For now, read about the herb fair in 2006, 2005 and 2004. Hey look, I was bitching about nasty neighbours back then, too.

Edited to add: Photos of these plants can be found here and here.
