I went to Richter’s the other day. I know, I know, I’m going to the Herb Fair, and they’re going to be there, too, but I’ve had a fifty dollar gift certificate burning a smoldering hole in my desk drawer for a year, and I didn’t think they’d be equipped to accept it off-site on Sunday. So I caved. Unfortunately, they didn’t have all of the items on my wish list, but the woman in the greenhouse there thought they might have some purple bush basil on Sunday.
I came home with 12 plants, but was charged for 13 (shakes fist in the air). Here’s what I bought (with photo linky goodness):
- Heliotrope
- Pineapple mint (note how it’s in a pot and will not be able to take over our side door, like the Candy Lime Mintâ„¢)
- Lemon eucalyptus
- Hidcote lavendar (I’ll rub it and smell it and be soothed when the neighbourhood kids sound like they’re murdering one another)
- Tricolour sage
- Tuscan blue rosemary
- Bay laurel
- Silver thyme
- Habanero peppers
- Vick’s plant
- Patchouli
- Bronze fennel
They’re all sort of rinky-dink right now, but I thought it would be cool to take another round of photos of these plants at the end of the summer to see how much they’ve grown.
P.S. Remember way back when I said I wouldn’t put ads on here for products I hadn’t tried out? Well, I’ve changed my tune slightly. I need plant money. I’ll be sure to block any ads for chemicals and such, however. Bad chemicals.
