A woman named Anne Antanaitis contacted me via the old site and told me about the Durham Region Orchid Society.
She says,
It is a fairly new club, seven years…Our society meets at Fernhill Community Centre on Fernhill Ave. in Oshawa. Our meetings are coming to a close for our season. But in September we will be starting a new oncoming season with guest speakers, workshops and shows. We will help anyone who needs information on the care and growing of orchids. We meet the third Sunday of months September to May. And May we have a fundraiser plant auction. And any date changes are announced ahead, usually when holidays and other important dates conflict. This meeting in May is going to be on the 27th because of Mothers Day and the long weekend. Just thought this is something new and it occupies gardeners for the winter months with flowers when nothing else blooms.
Anne’s number can be found on the Canadian Orchid Societies website if you’re interested in joining in. Thanks for the information, Anne!
