Awhile back I wrote about pinching back your houseplants to promote bushier, healthy new growth. When I pinched those plants back, I placed the cuttings in water on top of my piano. The result (click to view photos)?
Less spectacular but still present scented geranium roots.
I like to use old milk jugs and mason jars and vases to root my cuttings because I can see the progress of growth. My step-mom has used old empty spice jars, too, and they work really well. I’m a little bit low on potting soil right now, but as soon as I pick some up I’m going to plant these newly rooted guys in larger pots and give them some liquid organic fertilizer. When the weather warms up, the patchouli and scented geranium will go outside. I’ll probably try to find homes for the other two, because quite frankly, I’m all out of space for more houseplants.
