Today I was talking to my friend Gayla on the phone. We’re meeting up on Friday afternoon at Canada Blooms after her talk, “Urban Potager: Growing Food in Small or Difficult Spaces”. During our conversation she mentioned she’d be bringing along a few books that she’s giving me in exchange for some seeds. I replied, “Okay, and I’ll bring some of those Long Island Cheese squash seeds for you, too,” and immediately felt grateful to have someone in my life who I could actually say that out loud to.
