Parkwood Greenhouse

by Amy on February 11, 2007

Yesterday after participating in Seedy Saturday, we took a look inside the Parkwood Greenhouse. The greenhouse is made up of three rooms. The first room contains a bird of paradise, several palms, a cactus/succulent bed, coleus, spider plants, etc.

Another room is the tea room, and you can have tea surrounded by some incredibly blooming orchids. While I certainly do admire orchids, they’re my “scary plant”, the one I find intimidating.

The other room contains a koi pond (with a couple of really mammoth-sized koi), a lot of succulents, scented geraniums, bromeliads and bamboo.

On a sunny morning it was really nice to breathe in some greenery and look at some interesting plants. A lot of the bromeliads and succulents were blooming, which you don’t always see.
