Literally. The YGG Canadian Round Robin Seed Exchange package made its way back to me today. I sent it out originally in mid-January. None of the seeds within were part of the original package. Cool!
There were seeds I can use this season, still. The rest will have to wait until next year’s grow-op initiative.
Today I planted “Mr. Big” Peas, Purple Bush Beans, Runner Beans, and Giant Red Mustard in the veggie bed. Giant Red Mustard is described as, “Burgundy & green leaves for salads, soups & stirfry. Cut & come again ornamental.” This one should be interesting. I tucked it between the runner beans and peas.
I sacrificed one of the Oxheart tomato seedlings. Well, maybe “sacrificed” is a harsh word to use…but I’m not 100% convinced it’s warm enough out yet for the tomatoes and basil seedlings. Last year I waited until the week after the long weekend to put them in the ground. So I stuck one out there to see what happens. No expectations.
