The Garden as my Reflection?

by Amy on August 6, 2005

I’m one of those people whose garden definitely reflects their mood. So it’s no wonder that since I’ve been in a bit of a funk the last week or two, the garden has been a shambles. At least, that’s how I felt about it.

Yesterday I heard some good news that relieved me and perked me up considerably. I spent an hour or so puttering around out back, and I feel much better about the veggie beds. I’ve decided to do everything a little differently next year, though.

I pulled out all the beets, clipped all the jalapenos, pruned yellow leaves from the beans, zucchini, pumpkin and cucumbers, pulled out the cilantro that I hated and that made me avoid that area all the time, snipped the flowers from the basil, cleared some of the mulch from the stems of the plants, and watered everything. Sat down to admire the space, and realized the co-relation between my mood and the state of the garden. Anyway, feeling MUCH better about things, having learned some stuff that works and other stuff that doesn’t. All to be implemented in the plan for the garden next year.

What’s with all of these advertising comments? Weird. Anyway, Amy I hope you’re not still feeling funky. If so, shoot me an email! I have cheer enough for everyone! AAAAAAAAAAAA
