Bargains and Smog

by Amy on June 23, 2005

I just came home from Loblaws. They had a sale. So of course I came home with a mystery hydrangea and a virginia creeper, as well as the bags of black earth I went there for in the first place. I had been keeping an eye on the hydrangeas for awhile. The one I found today was the only one like it, but had no tag, so I’m not sure of the variety yet. I guess we’ll see when it blooms, but I hope it’s Annabelle! The virginia creeper is for the side of the house in the front. It’s the garage wall. So that means I’d better get out there and dig up the dirt alongside the garage!

It’s supposed to be hot out this weekend. I’m glad, but it’ll be yucky to be downtown on Saturday if it’s all smoggy. I’ll bring my inhaler. I’m going to be downtown because I’m going to meet Genny, fellow YGG contributor, then. We’ve been exchanging e-mail for months, really, and I really have fun chatting with her about her garden and her wedding plans. I feel we’ve become friends although we’ve never even spoken! But then that’s how I met Graham, so it can happen. I think she’s got a great sense of humour and I’m looking forward to meeting her. Hopefully Sakura and Sarah will be able to meet up too!
