The “Mother” Load

by Amy on May 15, 2005

We went to visit Mom today and she wanted to get rid of her perennials since she isn’t tending the garden at her building anymore. Here’s what I brought home:

lily of the valley
lupine
forget-me-not
snow in summer
arabis “rock cress”
creeping phlox
white perennial lobelia
lamb’s ears
ajuga
several hostas, different varieties
campanula (x3)
sedum (x3)

I think that’s it.

Then Graham went to return his mum’s lawn mower and van and came home with four more bags of cuttings from her. She sent more hens & chicks, rudbeckia, an iris and another mystery plant that smelled really good. Haven’t got the last four in the ground yet, but my perennial beds are filling up! And I haven’t spent a dime on them yet this summer.
