Well, I did it. I went to my old house on Wednesday night and dug up whatever perennials I could. I even grabbed a couple of plants that hadn’t come up yet, and I wasn’t sure what their identity was! I think that’s a risk worth taking.
I got Echinacea “Magnus”, Echinacea “White Swan”, Rudbeckia, Shasta daisies, Clematis, Hosta “Sum and Substance”, two or three other hostas, Lamium, Dianthus “Cheddar Pinks”, Canadian violet, Phlox, Mums (?), Lady’s mantle (2), bee balm, lavender, candy lime mint, columbine (2), poppy (we’ll see…they don’t like to be moved), chives, garlic chives, coreopsis, and ginger (amazingly it seemed to be greening up).
Here’s the booty:

I hope to get as many of them in the ground as possible this weekend. I’m especially concerned with the Clematis, which I’m the most anxious to plant. I can put the hostas in front, too. Actually, I may be able to get some done this afternoon. That would be good, since we’re expecting rain tomorrow.
