How’s Everybody Doing?

by Amy on February 25, 2005

My houseplants are loving their new house, in the south-west facing windows across the back of the house. My spider plants have especially taken off. Their new leaves are so shiny, and wider than they used to be. (Unfortunately Phoebe’s been enjoying them, too.)

The kalanchoe that Graham got me for 98 cents at Home Depot is about to bloom. I think the blooms will be yellow.

My larger Christmas cactus has a few little buds on it. It’s a gorgeous colour, I sure hope it will bloom again. The Christmas cactus that Graham got for me from HD also has a few little new leaves.

The umbrella plant that Renee gave me last year has finally recovered from the move and has two tiny little new leaves on it.

The mystery ivy continues to sprout new leaves.

The geranium seedlings in the basement have begun to sprout their second true leaf and I will be needing to fertilize them soon. The spanish onion seedlings are sprouting their first little spears. The catnip seems pretty happy, as well as the purple basil seedlings. No sign of violet babies yet, but the sucker I potted seems pretty happy. I think I’ll move it upstairs to natural light soon.
