Well, as you can imagine, there isn’t much to report in the garden. But there are important plans being made…
I’m going to be working with a brand new space this spring! My boyfriend and I are planning on living together at his house in Bowmanville in the next couple of months. And the yard at his house is very big. It gets full sun all day long. There is a little space just outside the side door that will be perfect for a kitchen garden. I think I will plant some herbs and tomatoes there. We’re going to build a raised bed for a veggie patch.
I won’t be leaving all of my babies back in Toronto for long…as soon as the ground thaws and they begin to poke their heads above the earth, I’ll go back and dig up what I can, leaving a little piece behind. It’s not just the dollar value of the plants that I don’t want to give up, it’s the love and care I’ve put into them over the past two years.
I brought a couple of house plants here to the Bowmanville house, and the rest of them will follow shortly. I am spending more time here than in Toronto, so they will be better cared for and get better sunlight in the window of this upstairs bedroom than the front room in Toronto.
Although I will be sad to leave my first real little garden behind, there are new places to pretty up and make green in my future!
