Lots of veggies coming along.
The beans get SO BIG before I get a chance to pick them. It’s their disadvantage, being the same colour as the foliage. Yellow beans are much easier to harvest for this reason.
Lots of cucumbers coming. I’ve already picked one but gave it to Mom to eat at her place. The vine is tied up to the fence in many places.
Currant tomatoes EVERYWHERE.
Lots of little peppers coming. Picked some of the banana peppers and there’s a good-sized green bell pepper coming along nicely. The Habaneros are coming along well, too. If the temperature reaches the high twenty’s like the forecast indicates, they should especially continue to do well.
Most of the tomatoes have fruit on them and the two tomato plants that I transplanted out of pots into the ground are coming along and have buds on them.
Tons of basil…I have to get cracking on the pesto situation.
I need to tidy up the beds a bit since the garden might be photographed for Gayla’s book. She posted the following announcement today on You Grow Girl:
“I’m working on a book and desperately need to photograph some gardening gals (and guys) in their space, digging in the soil etc.
Are there any local gardeners in the area up for the challenge? You must be in the downtownish area because I don’t drive and can’t make it out too far into the burbs.
I also need to photograph a few more urban gardens in general without the gardener… so small spaces, decks, fire escapes etc.
Please contact me if you’re interested or know someone who would be.”
I told her she is welcome to come by with her camera.
