Harbourfront Herb Fair

by Amy on June 6, 2004

Okay, now I’ve calmed down enough from the “Nasty Neighbours” post to tell you about my new purchases today. This really has to be the end of buying plants for this year. I seriously don’t have many more pots or spots to put them in (in the sun). I think others may begin to feel I have an obsession, but I wouldn’t say that so much… I just have a passion for growing things! And a keen interest in seeing how they’ll grow. It’s so rewarding. And I love the way a group of pots of interesting things looks. The herb fair was pretty good and I had a lot of fun meeting Gayla and chatting with her about our plants. She gave me some Blue Jade Corn seeds but I haven’t planted them yet. Here’s what I added today:

Striped German Tomato
Strawberry Orange Tomato
Lemon Cucumber
Candy Lime Mint
Alpine Strawberry
Scented Geranium-Nutmeg
Scented Geranium-Cinnamon
Scented Geranium-Apple
Lesbos Basil

The basil went into the herb garden beside the garage and the rest are in containers. It was a nice, relaxing Sunday before returning to the M-F, 9-5 lifestyle again, and a good reminder of how cool Toronto is.
