Herbs and Things

by Amy on May 12, 2004

Yesterday I brought home from work:

Thymus praecox Nutmeg-scented Selection (Nutmeg Thyme)
Thymus ‘Spicy Orange’ (Orange-scented Thyme)
Thymus x citriodorus (Lemon Thyme ‘Aureus’)
Peppermint
Oregano
Lavendula angustifolia ‘Munstead’ (English Lavender)
Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) and
Monarda ‘Jacob Cline’ (Beebalm)

I got a few things at the Parkdale Plant sale last Saturday as well:

St. John’s Wort
Wild Ginger
Currant Tomato
Hosta hyacinthina
Canna ‘African Sunset’
White Daisies (2 pots)

Last night I planted the top group in my new bed beside the garage and it looks really great! Later today I will plant the stuff from Saturday and I’ll post a photo soon (I need a new $18 battery for the digital camera).

The sweet pea seeds I threw in the ground a few weeks ago have emerged as seedlings in the back yard. I guess they just needed a few really warm days to be inspired. We have had humidex highs in the low-30′s the last few days and it is expected to last through the week.

The peony out front is in good shape, about a foot tall. The shasta daisy is coming up at last. Things are happening!

Hi Amy,
Herbs and Things is one of the really interesting blogs I’ve found during my search for info about presents for gardening. Although Herbs and Things isn’t exactly what I was looking for, I want to express my admiration, keep up the good work! While looking for more information about presents for gardening, I seldom see a good blog like yours.
